An impassioned food media personality, Shauna Sever has been drawn to the kitchen since she was a little girl growing up at the tables of loud, long family dinners in the suburbs of Chicago. Her lifelong love for and curiosity about the food world has gained her inside access to some of the country's best restaurants, both as a recipe writer for a Michelin-starred chef and as a host and reporter for food-related television.
Shauna's obsession with baking and desserts inspired the launch of her popular food blog
Piece of Cake in July 2007. An ardent believer in food and story being inseparable, Shauna uses her blog as a platform for sharing the personal anecdotes that go along with her favorite baking recipes, tips and techniques, in addition to original food photography. She also weaves her television experience into the mix with occasional video demonstrations of her favorite recipes.
Before pursuing a career in food media, Shauna graduated with a degree in Journalism from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. A post-graduation move to Los Angeles helped her make the transition from hard news to television hosting. She has worked as a television host and correspondent for numerous entertainment news outlets, including "Extra", TV Guide Network's "Hollywood 411" and Reelz Channel's "Dailies", and can still be seen in reruns of the nationally syndicated "Budget Travel Minute". Currently, she is featured as a correspondent for restaurant and food-related segments on "Best of the Bay", which airs in millions of homes across the Bay Area.
Off-camera and offline, Shauna can usually be found collecting kitchen gadgetry and cookbooks and running the hills of San Francisco, where she lives with her husband and their baby girl.
